The two terms that I think are my weaknesses were effective communication and collaboration. I feel that effective communication was one of my weak points because when i’m put on the spot I don’t know what to say. I also don’t get my thoughts across as clearly as I can. I just say a shortened version that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I feel that collaboration is also a weakness of mine. When I work with other people I don’t take in their ideas and just focus on my own ideas.
The two terms that I think are my strengths are flexibility and analytical thinking. I feel that I am flexible when it comes to projects because I can form my schedule around everyone else's. I can also make a quick change when needed and alter the course when needed. I think that analytical thinking is a strength because I always think things through before I do them. I don’t rush through things when I don’t need to. I am trying to improve my effective communication by telling my ideas in more complete sentences. As if I am making it in my head then saying what I’m thinking. I can improve my collaboration by taking in more information and using that information to make this project better. I also feel that I can improve this my using that information to the group's advantage.

There are a few things that I want to see happen with our mask project. I want this project to stick with me as something that I will remember for a long time. I also want this to really show our learning as something that everyone else understands. I big wish would be for the exhibition to be interactive so that everyone involved learns something as well. I would hope that this exhibition expresses our care for our education and shows that what we do here at Animas matters to everyone.
As a student I would hope to hear great feedback from all parents that attended. I would hope to hear parents talk about how much they learned from attending the exhibition. It would be great to hear some of them talk about how they saw how dedicated we were to this project. I would like to hear them say how this was interactive and are so glad that they came. Then some of them would talk about how they loved seeing our work demonstrated in a way that everyone learned. We can make sure that we are presenting accurate information by sending out a survey to many educators in our community. We can dig deeper and verify our information through books or the internet. We can ask parents if they think this information is relevant and accurate. During the past few weeks we have been working on a social action piece. Our social action piece is designing and prototyping our mask project exhibition. We started by brainstorming what we would like our exhibition to be like. We all agreed that we wanted something different than a classic stand and speak exhibition. We then separated into groups based on what we wanted the exhibition to be like. My group consisted of four people, our main idea was to have a structured tour through each agent of socialization. We then had to make a prototype for our idea. We could either make a storyboard or a poster that shows how our exhibition would run. After completing that goal we then had to make a list of people that we would invite to the exhibition. Our list consisted of around seven people. We then had to compose an email that we sent to each of the people we thought should be there. We had to write a summary of how our exhibition prototype worked and link a video that we made giving a summary of what they would learn at this exhibition. Then as a class we voted on which prototype idea was our favorite and would work best as an exhibition.
There are a few problems that this exhibition is trying to address. The main problem we are addressing is breaking the cycle of socialization. The cycle of socialization is telling people to stay with the status quo and not fan out from what they have been told to do. This exhibition is also teaching us that we can make our own ideas that stray away from a classic stand and deliver exhibition. There are multiple things that excite me about this exhibition. The biggest part that excites me is that we get to design our exhibition. This is different than anything that I have done in the past with exhibitions. The teachers would always do it for us and we just had to show up on time. Something that also excites me is that it is not a stand and deliver. This is something that really lets us show our creativity and what we learned over the past few months. I am also excited that we can pick our roles in the exhibition and being on the videography crew would be great. |
